Bunnell Street Gallery, a non-profit organization, provides an Independent Artist In the Schools Program following the Alaska State Council on the Arts guidelines, featuring artists in the State's Talent Bank/Roster. AIS residencies are instructed by professional artists throughout the school year on a first-come, first-serve basis. Schools from Anchor Point to the head of Kachemak Bay may apply to participate in this program with a letter stating their interest in participating and a participation fee of $250. Priority is given to schools not already served by independent participation in the State's Artist in the Schools program. Schools with over 150 students are strongly encouraged to take a two-week program, and pay an additional participation fee of $500 for a total fee of $750 to have a two-week program. Bunnell Street Gallery’s Independent Artist in the Schools program is funded in part by grants from private donors, Conoco Phillips, the Alaska State Council on the Arts with support from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Rasmuson Foundation.
Programs : Theater/acting, Filmmaking, Ceramics, Poetry and/or Fiction-writing, Painting, Storytelling/percussion, Dance, Jewelry-making, Mask-making, Collage, Printmaking, and Puppetry.
