ARTS EDUCATION
ARTIST CONTRACT

With this agreement, Bunnell Street Gallery recognizes that the artist will provide five days of art instruction at _______________________________ school
on the dates of _______________, 2007/2008.

The art education unit may not begin until this contract has been signed by the school principal, artist, classroom teacher and Bunnell Street Gallery. Each participating classroom teacher must sign the contract.

The artist agrees to provide a minimum of 20 hours of instructional contact time with the students.  The artist is required to provide a one-hour teacher workshop in addition to the 20-hour instructional unit for students, Scheduling time to be mutually agreeable between artist and school. The artist agrees to collect reproductions of student artwork for program publicity purposes.

The school is responsible for providing a participation fee of $250 payable to Bunnell Street Gallery for a one-week program by October 1.  The classroom teacher must be present during the instructional period. The classroom teacher agrees to provide up to $200.00 worth of art materials in-kind for the instruction. The school will also provide a written evaluative letter and documentation of student’s work to Bunnell Street Gallery within two weeks of the completion of the instructional period on school letterhead. This letter may be mailed or delivered to Bunnell Street Gallery.  The host classroom teacher agrees to submit thank you letters on school letterhead to the editors of both local newspapers and Bunnell Street Gallery within 2 weeks of completion of the instruction acknowledging Bunnell Street Gallery's Art Education Program. Pending available funds, schools with over 150 students may be eligible for an additional week of art instruction for an additional participation fee of $500.

The artist agrees to provide the Artists final evaluation form within two weeks of the completion of the instructional period.  This letter may be mailed or delivered to Bunnell Street Gallery. Upon completion of the program and a receipt of the artist's evaluative letter, Bunnell Street Gallery will pay $1000.00 to the artist.

Bunnell Street Gallery will reimburse artists for up to $250 in materials and mileage at cents per mile upon presentation of mileage and gas receipts.

Copies of these thank you letters and will be provided to our funders for the purposes of accountability.
