Our Artists in the Schools Program
2008/2009

Synopsis : Bunnell administers an Independent Artist In the Schools Program featuring artists in the State's Talent Bank/Roster. We hold meetings 2x per year open to all interested artists, teachers, administrators and parents.  Attendance by a school representative is not required to participate in the program. Bunnell funds AIS residencies instructed by Alaskan artists in the above-mentioned art forms throughout the school year on a first-come, first-serve basis. Schools from Anchor Point to the head of Kachemak Bay may apply in the form of a letter stating their interest in participating and a participation fee of $250. Priority is given to schools not already served by independent participation in the State's Artist in the Schools program. Schools with over 150 students may pay an additional participation fee of $500 for a total fee of $750 to have a two-week program. Bunnell Street Gallery’s Independent Artist in the Schools program is funded in part by grants from private donors, Conoco Phillips, the Alaska State Council on the Arts with support from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Rasmuson Foundation.
