EXHIBITING AT BUNNELL STREET ARTS CENTER

Bunnell Street Arts Center is a non-profit 501(c)(3) educational organization for performances and exhibitions of contemporary art in all media. Bunnell exhibits month-long shows that demonstrate the highest commitment to fine art and craft and advance public understanding and appreciation of art in all forms.

The annual exhibition deadline is October 31. Exhibitions are scheduled six to eighteen months in advance.

In order to consider your work for exhibition we require a letter of application, an artist's statement, resume and five slides or a CD containing 5 images representative of the body of work you wish to exhibit. Please do not send any more than five images. Application volume in previous years has made it necessary for us to limit the number of images we can jury. It is also helpful if you indicate which three months you would like to exhibit, in order of preference.

Artists are encouraged to apply for collaborative, shared and invitational exhibition formats as well as solo shows. If you are applying for a shared show of your own design, we require information that is inclusive of all applicants including a letter of proposal. If you are willing to exhibit your work in a format other than "solo" please indicate this in your letters of application. You may be contacted for inclusion in an invitational/group show. While exhibitions of less than one month are not usual, we welcome applications for alternative formats.

Bunnell retains a 40% commission on artwork sales in the front exhibition area. Artwork on exhibit need not be for sale.

Exhibiting artists are encouraged to become members of Bunnell Street Arts Center at a $30 membership level or higher. This helps to underwrite the cost of exhibition mailings and supports the grants that underwrite the Visual Art Exhibition Series.

For exhibitions, Bunnell provides: installation assistance, title cards, a catered reception, regular gallery hours for viewing, informed gallery attendants and publicity including a state-wide mailing of 500 announcement post cards, inclusion in Bunnellís newsletter and local paper and radio announcements. Please provide a self-addressed stamped envelope for return of your application materials.
