Letter from the Gallery
Bunnell Street Arts Center is special for many reasons--multidisciplinary programming, inventive flair and the uniquely inspiring environs of an elegant, historic landmark building overlooking Kachemak Bay in Homer, Alaska. Bunnell received a Alaska Governor’s Award for the Arts in 2008. For many years visitors, arts writers and Alaska’s artists have called Bunnell “Alaska’s best contemporary art venue.”
Bunnell has been a powerful force in shaping Alaska’s cultural landscape for 20 years. This inspiring space for innovative art has helped sustain Alaskan artists and audiences by cultivating collectors, artist residencies, dialog with international visitors, established working artists and emerging young talent. Bunnell has nurtured Homer’s identity as “one of America’s best small art towns."
How can a Center like this exist? Bunnell owes its existence to the devotion of many hard-working artists, volunteers, generous members, donors, Board directors and staff. If you believe that Bunnell Street Arts Center plays a critical role in cultivating the artistic, economic and social vitality of this region, consider investing in Bunnell Street Arts Center. Support a vibrant Alaskan resource with a donation today. Alaskans may donate through “Pick.Click.Give” when applying for the Alaska Permanent Fund. We met our goals in 2010's Annual Appeal. We can do it again this year!
Thank you for your support! Asia Freeman
